Dear Dr. Wallace:

I would like to request a no cost extension of the 
grant for Mathematical Theory of Symbolic Expressions
(84-12680/MPCR-114) awarded under the NSF U.S.-Japan
Cooperative Science Program.  The original funding 
was for two two week trips to Japan for each of six
people with the funding period extending from April 1985 
through September 1987.  I would
like this to be extended for one year (through September 1988).
The reason for the request is that none of the six participants
in our group have been able to travel to Japan yet and year's
extension would allow time for the allotted trips to be made.
The Japanese participants were at Stanford last summer,
and will be here again this summer.
